We are making a few changes to volunteer roles with Asking You! This will see us introduce some new volunteering opportunities. They will involve working with us in many ways.

The first role is Self-Advocate. People who attend meetings but do not have a volunteer role are called self-advocates. This means you will speak up for your thoughts and feeling at Asking You! meetings.

They can come to self-advocacy meetings and have their say when they want to.

Elected Representatives

The second role is Elected Representative. This involves taking views from the People’s Parliament to the Leeds Learning Disability Partnership Board meeting.

Representatives will be voted in at the next People’s Parliament meeting in September. There are 3 roles. It lasts for a year and you need to attend a pre-meeting before each Partnership Board meeting.

Stewards

The final role is Steward. They help at Asking You! events. This could involve things like signing people in, getting people to and from taxis and telling people more about what we do.

Before each event, there will be a meeting where you can choose what role you would like to do.
