We have some exciting new volunteer roles in Asking You! One of them is Elected Representative. This role sees someone who goes to a People’s Parliament meeting chosen by other members to share what they say at the Leeds Learning Disability Partnership Board.
If you are in Leeds, have a learning disability and want to volunteer as an Elected Representative, we have a meeting coming up to help with that.
Preparation
The Elected Representatives will be elected at the People’s Parliament meeting on Tuesday 24th September. As this is an elected role, we are holding a preparation session before the meeting. It will cover:
- How to write an election speech
- How to present an election speech
- Managing nerves
When is the session?
It is on Tuesday 17th September from 1pm to 3pm. We will hold it at The Advonet Group’s office, at this address:
The Advonet Group
Unity Business Centre
26 Roundhay Road
Leeds
LS7 1AB
You will need to tell Asking You! if you would like to run. Please do this by Friday 20th September.
You can do this by calling 0113 244 0606 or emailing Imogen at [email protected]. When calling, please ask to leave a message for Imogen with your name and number.
