We have some training coming up for anyone who would like to become a Volunteer Digital Champion with us!

This project involves helping adults with a learning disability in Leeds to learn digital skills. It is funded by a grant from Leeds Community Foundation and supported by 100% Digital Leeds.

How digital skills can help

Having digital skills can:

  • Promote social inclusion
  • Improve health and wellbeing
  • Gain better access to services and information

As a Volunteer Digital Champion, you will be meeting regularly with someone with a learning disability to show them how to do things like:

  • Using smartphones
  • Using apps and websites

You will be working with them in a person-centred way. The role is for a few hours every month.

Training sessions and dates

We have the following sessions available at these times:

  • Digital Mentoring – Friday 15th May, 1pm to 3pm
  • Advonet Accessible Induction – Friday 22nd May, 10am to 1pm
  • Learning Disability Awareness – Friday 29th May, 10am to 1pm

To become a volunteer, you need to attend all three sessions first.
